insomnia again
open my night obsession
see the name I treasure
the room shrinks
to encompass only the flickering screen
fingers move on their own accord
eyes skim across your words
unaware of captured breath
'til my lungs scream for air
the words
both vague and telling
not exactly what I wanted or needed
but all that you could give
finally lie
close my eyes
think of you
see your face
imagine your embrace
and finally sleep
piano keys recapture my spirit
i added new geography to the map now traveled
my shoes walked those sidewalks alone
in those moments, i imagined who walked alongside-
